This Saturday will be the last "Meet the Mayor" prior to the April 4th election.

During this event as always I'll take questions from residents however, we'll use this last meet and greet to recall all the work that has been done in just four short years.

Sauk VIllage 2016/2017 CDGB Street Projects

If you missed the last Meet the Mayor the following information was announced.

Sauk Village will have over $1million in street repairs in 2016 & 2017. Below represents $200K in CDGB street repairs with construction starting on the streets highlighted in yellow (depending on weather) during the 1st or 2nd quarter of 2017.

Meet the Mayor in the Park

This last Saturday was a busy day with Meet the Mayor Events in the morning and afternoon.

On Saturday, July 9th we had our monthly Meet the Mayor at the Village Municipal Center in the morning and then in the afternoon our first Meet the Mayor in the Park for this year.

The first Meet the Mayor in the Park went well while I had the opportunity to talk with residents around the 218th and Clyde park area.

A special thank you to family and friends that helped cook, greet and serve residents.

 

I had a great time meeting with residents and listening to their concerns and even received few kudos from residents concerning the improvements seen with Public Works and Police. However, I explained the noticeable improvements are due to the great leadership over those departments (Public Works Director Kevin Weller and Police Chief Kowalski).

In closing, thank you to all those that came out and allowing me to spend some time with you and your families on such a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

While the discussion remains open among the village board concerning the use of the rotunda we will do something a little different this Saturday. On Saturday, I will be available to meet with village residents around the Christmas tree in the foyer at the Village Hall.

Guest Speaker at Saturday's Meet the Mayor

Just wanted to clear up some rumors

On Friday evening the Sauk Village Police Department experienced radio issues at CalCom. The issues lasted approximately two hours however, disruption was minimum due the Chief Kowalski quickly implementing the contingency plan.

The Police Department continued to function during the disruption and officers had radio contact among themselves as well as the Illinois State Police Radio Emergency Network (ISPERN).

CalCom sent a technician to Sauk Village immediately and the issue was resolved. After further root cause analysis it was found that the problem was a human error not a technical issue as previously thought.

A special thank you to our Police Chief Kowalski and officers for stepping up and doing a great job during this time and while maintaining a safe environment.

October 10th "Meet the Mayor" Presentation

Below is the presentation from the October 10th Meet the Mayor. 

In September the board had the opportunity to attend the Illinois Municipal League (IML) conference. The information in the presentation is just a portion of what was taught however, these are questions that have been asked at village board and Meet the Mayor meetings this last year.

This information was provided to elected officials that attended from across all of Illinois. Over the next few months the board will be presented with recommendations for updating current ordinances or policies based on the what was taught and/or due to changes in State law. 

In addition, I have asked the Village Clerk to schedule vendors that we met with at the conference that could provided additional services for village residents to present at upcoming village board committee meetings
